About jlauser.net

jlauser.net was started in 2006 by James Lauser to provide friends and family with low-cost web hosting solutions for themselves and their businesses. The emphasis has been and always will be keeping costs low while maintaining the same level of service provided by more expensive services.

Hardware

jlauser.net uses exclusively enterprise-grade hardware from vendors like Advanced Micro Devices and 3ware. These systems, unlike conventional personal computing hardware, are built from the gound up to provide unsurpassed performance and reliability and are designed for unattended 24x7 operation.

Software

jlauser.net uses only Open Source Software for all tasks. The goal of OSS is community development, with an emphasis on correct software development, rather than profit. jlauser.net also supports Open Source Software by donating all net profits to organizations designed to support and promote Open Source.

Datacenter

jlauser.net's equipment is co-located in a major datacenter for one of the largest Internet Service Providers in the world. This datacenter has multiple redundant power and communication systems, and is designed to provide near-100% uptime. Located at the datacenter is the regional peering-point for one of the largest global Tier-1 IP backbone networks, which provides high-bandwidth, low-latency connections to customers worldwide.
