Set up email forwarding

Setting up email forwarding is simple.

In your home directory, there should be a file called forwards. Simply edit this file. The format is:

user@mydomain.com <tab> otheruser@otherdomain.com
anotheruser@mydomain.com <tab> someone_else@yetanotherdomain.com

If you want to set up a catch-all for your domain, simply leave off the username in the first field (i.e. start at the @ symbol).

You can set up a forward from one address at your domain to another address at the same domain, but do NOT set up a loop between two addresses.

If you have multiple domains, you can set up forwards for any of them using this same file. There is no limit to the number of entries in this file.

Note that changes to this file may take up to 5 minutes to go into effect.
